7th Language Arts
Welcome to Mrs. Stoudt's 7th grade Language Arts! Students, books and language are some of my favorite things. My education includes a degree in English, a Master’s in Linguistically Diverse Education, and a School Librarian K-12 endorsement. Thus far, my career in education has includes teaching English, Reading, Elementary and Middle School Library.
Grades are not who we are, nor do they reflect all our abilities as people. Students' grades are in their hands. As a teacher, I do my utmost to evaluate student work and assign grades based on the skills and knowledge required to be obtained in each course. I am most concerned that skills are mastered. Keep in mind that classes are built on previous lessons. It is not in students' best interest to fall behind. Students receive feedback on their work, and in theory, putting forward their best effort aids in completing work of passing quality. Tests and quizzes are different, but opportunities to turn in corrections or retakes are often available.
The syllabus page shows a table-oriented view of the course schedule, and the basics of course grading. You can add any other comments, notes, or thoughts you have about the course structure, course policies or anything else.
