After graduating from UNC in 1994 with a English/Language Arts degree along with a Social Science emphasis and an Elementary-Middle School endorsement, I was hired at WMS in January of 1995 and have been here ever since. :) My job has provided me with the opportunity to teach some of the best kids on the planet. When I am not teaching, I enjoy reading mystery novels, playing games, spending time with my family, and going to the mountains. You can contact me by email or phone.
Teaching history is fun and exciting for me because your student and I have the opportunity to fall back in time and discover who and what made this great country we live in what it is today. Students will discover interesting facts, dig deep into a topic by answering and developing depth of knowledge questions as well as learn to be independent thinkers and leaders. The beauty of teaching history is that I have the opportunity to create innovative lessons that provide "thinkers of history".
I am so excited for the opportunity to work with your students in College & Careers! They will learn about "life" on minimum wage, complete job applications, investigate colleges and majors that are available, discover career possibilities, and "live" on a salary based on their career interest. My goal is for your student to leave this class with a newly developed interest in their future.
