About the teacher information

I have been teaching since 2004 and have experience as a classroom teacher, a learning coach, and a teacher librarian. I spent my first years of education in Fort Lupton, Colorado teaching 7th grade Language Arts and later serving as their teacher librarian. I have been employed in Weld Re-4 since 2017. I am excited and grateful to begin my next adventure as the teacher librarian at Severance High School. I am a Highly Effective Teacher Librarian dedicated to meeting the diverse needs of my students. I am an advocate for personalized learning and happy to be a part of an educational community that will allow students to explore their interests and fosters learner agency. I am passionate about literacy, technology, design thinking and the maker movement. My goal as an educator is to allow students to explore and learn in an collaborative environment that results in life-long learners that are information seekers and positive contributors to the ever changing world around them.

In addition to time spent in the classroom, I have been a volleyball coach at both the middle and high school level. I have over fifteen years of experience working with student athletes and am excited to continue coaching volleyball at Severance High School. I believe in building strong student athletes that can excel both on and off the court. I live in Fort Collins, CO with my pup Althea.
